Annual Gala Recap (2025) - A Night of Community and Celebration
Last year’s gala brought together a powerful mix of community, creativity, and connection. It was a meaningful and successful evening that reflected the heart of our work—people coming together across generations, experiences, and roles to celebrate growth, resilience, and shared purpose.
Community in the Room
The space was filled with a diverse group of participants and partners who continue to shape our work. We were honored to welcome members of the Center for Justice, including participants from the Women’s Transcending Program, young people from our Community Service Learning Initiative, and elders from the community who continue to guide and ground our efforts.
We were also joined by architects from the DLR Group, who have been supporting our vision through design and planning, alongside other community members who showed up in support and solidarity.
Honoring Impact
A key moment of the evening was taking time to recognize and uplift individuals who have contributed to the work in meaningful ways. Awards were presented to community members whose commitment, leadership, and presence continue to strengthen what we are building together.
Joy, Culture, and Connection
The night was not just about reflection, but also celebration. From line dancing to music and shared laughter, the room carried a spirit of joy and unity. People connected, celebrated one another, and took a moment to simply enjoy being in community.
Looking Ahead
The gala was a reminder of what is possible when people come together with intention. It affirmed the strength of our partnerships, the importance of our programs, and the continued need for spaces that bring people together in meaningful ways.
We Need Your Support
With the invaluable support of our community partners and residents, we’ve made tremendous progress toward our vision for East Harlem. However, much more is needed to fully bring it to life. Proceeds from tickets and donations for the 2025 Gala will directly fund essential renovations, including plumbing, electrical upgrades, elevator installation, new furnishings, and other enhancements to create the inspiring ACYFO Theater and Center for Solutions. Together, we can make this vision a reality!
Our Vision
The ACYFO Center for Solutions and Performance Space will be a transformative hub for artistic expression and community empowerment in East Harlem. Designed to address critical issues such as poverty, community health, mass incarceration, and resource sharing, the Center will provide culturally sensitive spaces, including a Black Box Community Theatre, visual arts and music production studios, and co-working areas for local organizations and residents. Serving a diverse audience—including seniors, children, families, returning citizens, and grassroots organizers—the Center will promote public safety, reduce recidivism, and support community artists and entrepreneurs through programs, training, and social services. By building strong partnerships and offering holistic solutions, the ACYFO Center seeks to create a stronger, more connected East Harlem.
